Kodak Building #9 – Reworked

Well it’s been just over a year since this picture was taken. I’ve become a little more familiar with HDR photography and what I like and don’t like with the technique. Here is a reworked version of another picture from the gymnasium. At some point I need to settle on a style, process more images and finally assemble a book of the four adventures to date.

Muskoka Centre

Regal Constellation Hotel – Toronto, ON

The Regal Constellation Hotel was a large hotel with focus on trade shows, convention and hospitality training centre near Pearson International Airport near Toronto, Ontario.

Built in 1962, the hotel consisted of two 15 floor towers, 6 storey atrium, a Chinese restaurant and 90,000 square feet (8,400 m2) of convention space.

Once a popular hotel and convention venue, the hotel is no longer operating due to declining business and other setbacks, culminating with the SARS crisis. It was owned by Hong Kong-based Regal Hotels International.

Kodak Building 9 – Toronto, ON

A cold Sunday morning in March. Unfortunately the camera lens was the casualty of a collapsing tripod.

Bell – Apps work best

Yeah so it’s been a while since I’ve updated any work. I worked on this with the team over at Zulu Alpha Kilo.

Blast from the Past

Jason (vocals), Jamie (bass), Jay (keyboard) and Bernie (drums).

I don’t know if we ever had a band name and we only ever played 1/2 a song live, until they turned off the power. I remember somebody telling me that one of the original actors from Degrassi Junior High was in the crowd and he seemed to be cutting a mean rug, or maybe he was convulsing.

Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!

The New North / The Real Frequency

NewNorth_coverflow_flat

I’m happy to finally be able to post this project. Two of the three singles are currently available in the iTunes music store, so scrape together $1.98 and support Canadian hip-hop talent.

Here’s what the client has to say about the project:

The Real Frequency on Toronto’s Flow 93.5 decided to start the New North initiative earlier this year with the intent to shed light and expose people to some homegrown artists they think you should know about. The world knows, the Maestro’s, Saukrates’, Michee Mee’s and Kardinal’s but, there’s a whole group of artists right behind them.

Garage Sale Seller

Maybe I can put that on my business card. Jamie Mageau, Graphic Designer/Garage Sale Seller, it has a nice ring to it. That freeze frame is pretty instense.

I had a yard sale last weekend and Global News showed up and scared all my customers away. I think most of them were on parole. Stay tuned for the video clip of the news segment.

Epic Fail

tictacsodoku

I developed a new take on Sudoku and thought that this would be the latest craze in the puzzle world, unfortunately it never caught on.

Brand new me

portfolio

I’ve finally put the finishing touches on my portfolio. The custom sleeve and business cards are the latest addition. After taking a couple of sewing classes I was able to put together this nice little denim sleeve with patterned lining and heavy duty metal zipper. I decided that it would be interesting if I used the same patterned fabric on the back of my business cards, they look and feel great. The book itself is an off-the-shelf aluminum screwpost portfolio. I added cherry veneer to the outside and inside and stained it with a teak coloured finish. After many layers of matte varnish, it was done.
